poems 2 rock your soul by Mel Gibson

yellow river

i need to flee
i need a catholic catharsis
here, in rome,
the tiber celebrates
her birthday every moment
by announcing
the contents of her history;
of punic wars and prescient popes
i have found kindness here
where
the same slant-eyed gooks who pushed me out
of line at the vatican
are taking photos of this urinary river,
and of me peeing in it
i make muscles like a strongman
and charge them five euros a pic
now that’s showbusiness
